A number of copies were released during the recent Cardiff Camac Harp Weekend, here is what the harpists with copies have to say:

The Flourishing Harpist: Guidebook should be on every harpist’s shelf!!! This book is a reference for everything you need to know-no matter your playing level. Those just learning will benefit from foundation tips on technique, information on strings and knot tying, how to sit at the harp, the note and rest pyramids, time signatures and metronome markings. Everyone will benefit from the beautiful warm-ups that can be played in front of an audience. The inclusion of flashcards to practice foundation and flourishing shapes is a game changer—cut them out and use them!!! My favorite part is the glossary of harp techniques—such a great reference with detailed descriptions and pictures of the notation. The companion workbook is an invaluable tool for having effective practice. Using Shelley’s approach of reflective practice has made such a difference, not only in my ability to make progress but also in letting me go back and review my prior goals and celebrate all I have accomplished. Kimberly Woods

The Flourishing Harpist: Guidebook is very useful resource for harpists of levels. It contains basic information (e.g. stings, foundation techniques, posture at the instrument and basic music knowledge) that’s very valuable for beginners. There are also Warm-ups in 3 different levels from beginner to advanced players. They are really lovely and sound great, you can also use them, when you have to warm up in front of an audience.The glossary of harp techniques is a great resource. And you can also use it find a new technique to try out.I also really like the flash card exercises. You can cut out the flash cards from the book and use them to learn and memorize all the useful shapes that will make your harp playing and music reading so much easier. They are also a great way to practice something when you are away from the harp. Harp teachers can also use the book with their students. I got one for a student. And just this morning I used the shapes overview sheet in a lesson and recommended to her to cut the cards out and spend some time on the first shape to get more familiar with it. With the accompanying workbook you can plan and reflect on your harp journey. There are 4 pages for every week to plan and track your progress. Dimitra Fleissner
A fantastic resource and reference book to have. So much in here. It provides things that are;
1) all in one place
2) harp focussed
3) provide not just explanations, but how to work them out
4) above all bring Shelley’s passion, unique style and ability tp make your harp sing.
Thank you Shelley. An essential for everyone, wherever you are at the beginning of your journey of discovery, travelling the road, or,  just need a fantastic reference book.
I think you have created something quite unique. An essential for everyone, wherever they are on all of our individual, but shared roads of discovery. Annie Jones
