Future Dates:

On the 4th and 5th of May 2024, Elen Vining is hosting another incredible Cardiff Camac Harp Weekend, and I’m telling you, it’s an event you won’t want to miss! Moreover, she’s offered us an opportunity to perform together in an afternoon concert during the weekend. Dynamic Harps will be playing three songs as part of my set over the weekend.  I’m thrilled to invite our extended harp family to be part of this exciting concert.

To prepare for this performance, I’ve secured a rehearsal space for us on Friday, the 3rd of May, from 10 am to 4 pm. This rehearsal will lead up to the concert happening over the weekend. However, due to the limited space available on stage, I can only offer 15 spots to the wider community. Once Elen has shared the full details of the weekend, I’ll open separate bookings for those interested.

For those joining the in-person ensemble, this Friday rehearsal will be part of the Summer Term schedule. Additionally, everyone involved will have a guaranteed spot for the performance. There’s also a special offer for the harp weekend for you guys, which I’ll share as soon as possible.

I understand it might be a big commitment, especially for those with full-time jobs, but I’m hopeful that an early heads-up might make it feasible! It would be fantastic to bring together our wider community once again. Already, there’s interest from some of our overseas buddies!

Summer 2024 – National Botanic Garden of Wales Harp Weekend – Date TBC

I am yet to get a confirmed date for this from NBGW, the person I need to speak to is back in the office next week I am told, I will confirm with you as soon as I can.

COVID-19 Precautions and Guidelines

We will follow guidance from the Welsh Government at all times. Masks and pre-session testing will not be required during the 10 week workshops this term. If this makes attending prohibitive for anyone wishing to join please email me on info@harpwales.com so I can do my very best to accommodate your needs.

The Dynamic Harps Virtual Ensemble

Whether you sign up or not, you are also invited to attend our online Dynamic Harps Virtual Ensemble sessions. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month 8pm-9.30pm.

Commitment

Please remember that each term you are expected to commit to the concerts and to attend a minimum 8 of 10 sessions, this is so we can learn our parts, learn to perform within the ensemble and then be there on the concert day to play our parts so that the balance within the pieces works well.  Life can very easily creep up on us with unexpected happenings. Please let me know if you already know you are unable to attend any of the concerts.

I totally understand last minute changes, but if you already know you are unable to attend at least 8 rehearsals and/or the concerts this term please let me know as you may need to have a break and re-join us next term. We have to think of the whole group and all the hard work everyone puts in, to make sure we respect one another and our wonderful music making.

Times: Dynamic Harps on Monday Daytime sessions will run from 12.45pm to 2.45pm and the evenings will run from 6.45pm – 8.45pm for the 10 sessions. Please arrive to set up and tune 15 minutes before hand in time to be ready to play at the start time. If you are not tuned and ready when we start, please can you set up outside the room and join us once you are ready to make sure we can all get the most from our sessions.

What to bring to sessions: Harp, music Stand, harp stool (or there are normal chairs to use at venue), tuning equipment, spare strings if you have them, ensemble music file (which you will be given at the first session), pencil, rubber. Please where possible clearly mark your equipment with your name.

What next? From now on, all payments will be taken online, please visit this page to pay for the 10 sessions to secure your place. I would also love an enrolment form filled in for the first official session of term, I will bring them along to our first session for you to fill out.

The fee for the 10 week evening course of Dynamic Harps is £185 for the term.
