NEW MEMBERS OF ALL LEVELS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

I am delighted that you are interested in joining or rejoining the harp ensemble this autumn. I am really looking forward to getting started, and I hope you are too!

I’m pleased to once again offer both DAYTIME and EVENING Dynamic Harps IN-PERSON ensemble sessions this term.

The daytime sessions will continue to be mixed-genre, while the evening sessions will also be mixed, with more of a focus on pop, rock, film and show music.

Autumn Term

This term, we’ll dive into new repertoire, revisit some old favourites and, of course, continue to enjoy some Dynamic Harps classics together!

We also have a very special guest tutor session, our rescheduled Rhydypennau Hub concert and two wonderful opportunities to celebrate the festive season together.

Please do encourage anyone you know to join us—this is a GREAT moment to join the ensemble. I promise that these sessions are accessible whatever your level!

The autumn term includes 10 Monday rehearsals, including our special guest tutor session and preparation for our upcoming performances.

🌟 Guest Tutor: Caitlyn Thomas

I am absolutely delighted that Caitlyn Thomas, one of our very own Dynamic Harps members, will be our guest tutor this autumn!

Caitlyn first joined Dynamic Harps before going on to pursue her university harp studies. Since returning to Wales several years ago, she has continued to develop her career as a professional harpist. Alongside playing with us and teaching full-time, Caitlyn performs a wonderfully varied mixture of classical, contemporary and modern music.

Caitlyn will lead both our daytime and evening sessions on Monday 19th October, bringing some of her own arrangements for us to explore and enjoy together.

It will be particularly special to welcome Caitlyn as our guest tutor and celebrate everything she has achieved!

🎵 Rhydypennau Hub Concert

Saturday 10th October 2026

Arrival from 10.15am
Performance: 11.00am–12.00 noon

📍 Rhydypennau Hub
Llandennis Road, Cyncoed, Cardiff, CF23 6EG

This is our rescheduled summer concert, which unfortunately had to be postponed because of the extreme heat.

As a result, our first concert falls unusually early this term—just three weeks after our autumn rehearsals begin!

New members will be warmly encouraged to join in with as much or as little of the concert as they would like. You might choose to play just one or two pieces to experience performing with the group, without any pressure to learn the entire programme within three weeks.

It will be a lovely, relaxed opportunity to get a feel for the ensemble and enjoy making music together.

Further information about arrival, repertoire and concert arrangements will be sent to ensemble members.

🕯️ Christmas Performances

We are hoping that our main Christmas concert will be a beautiful Harps by Candlelight performance at Court Colman Manor. This is currently awaiting final confirmation, and I will share the full details as soon as possible.

We are also confirmed to perform in aid of City Hospice:

Wednesday 16th December 2026
6.00pm–7.00pm

📍 St David’s Shopping Centre, Cardiff

Further information about both Christmas performances will follow during the term.

💻 The Dynamic Harps Virtual Ensemble

Whether you sign up for the in-person term or not, you are also warmly invited to attend our online Dynamic Harps Virtual Ensemble events.

❄️ FREE Dynamic Harps Winter Virtual Ensemble Weekend

Our online Dynamic Harps Virtual Ensemble will also return for a special seasonal gathering:

Friday 20th–Sunday 22nd November 2026

Harpists from around the world are warmly invited to join us online for a free weekend of ensemble music, learning, friendship and shared playing.

Our Winter repertoire will include:

🎶 Serenade for the Oak Moon – an atmospheric original composition

🎶 Sussex Carol – a beautiful traditional winter favourite

🎶 Additional ensemble music and seasonal surprises

The music will include different parts and ways to participate, so you can choose material that feels comfortable and enjoyable for your playing level.

You do not need to attend every session or learn every piece—simply join in with as much of the weekend as works for you.

The Winter Virtual Ensemble Weekend is completely FREE, but you do need to join the Ruzuku classroom to receive the sheet music, timetable, Zoom links and event updates.

This reduced price will apply to everyone joining us this autumn, including new members.
